Buttermilk Waffles

Earlier in the week I had wanted to make a new recipe for biscuits that required buttermilk, but not all of the buttermilk. With the left over I decided why not try out something else. I thought of pancakes or muffin, but ended up on Waffles (for dinner) which ended up being the perfect choice!

I began by mixing all the dry ingredients: flour, salt, cinnamon and baking powder. I whisked this until combined and left and crater in the center where I poured the leftover buttermilk, egg, and vanilla. Once all ingredients are combined and set for a couple minutes. Spray your waffle iron with non stick spray during this time and start cooking the waffles!

Dark chocolate chips or blueberries are my favorite to add to waffles, but you can keep it simple like I did here with unsalted butter and syrup.


I served this meal as “Brinner” alongside some potatoes, peppers, onions, and fried eggs.
