A Couple Favorite Kitchen Tools

I thought I would share a few of my favorite tools to use in the kitchen:

Kitchenaid Artisan Stand Mixer, Pink

I have to say I love my KitchenAid! I am a baker, and this makes all baking a million times easier. I use the wire whip (whisk) for making cookies, honey butter, frosting and more. The hook and paddle are great for doughs especially if you are like me and make breads from scratch. I prefer this to the additives found in store bought bread. You can buy attachments for a KitchenAid that will make prepping meals much less time consuming. There are spiralizers (make your own zucchini spaghetti!), Pasta press, Food Processor (I own), and more!

Silicone Baking Mat Set (2) Half Sheets - Non Stick Cookie Sheets Professional Grade

Silicone Baking mats are another essential. If you want to save money and are environmentally conscious, these are for you! I have KITZINI mats and I use them ALL the time. I would have to say my most common use for them is when I am making cookies. Generally, I will put the mat over a baking sheet so as not make a mess placing them in and out of the oven. These mats are inexpensive and can be used to replace parchment paper when rolling dough or to lessen calories from oils and sprays needed on pans before putting meats or vegetables in the oven. Did I mention how easy they are to clean!? I hate scraping burnt chocolate or crusted chicken off pan. Using these mats for the past year and a half, I have yet to find a stain or need to scrape them clean. You simply rinse them with soap and water and let dry.

Another recent favorite of mine (I’ve only had it about a month) has been my ice cream scoop. It really helps to have standardization when baking multiple goods such as muffins, cookies, or cupcakes. I have done without it in the past and you can definitely make do using measuring cups or spoons. It just happens to be more tedious and messy in those instances. The ice cream scoop is such a simple and easy tool that will give you more pride in what you are creating. The messy cupcakes will always taste just as good, but there is a sense of satisfaction when the whole batch of cupcakes down to the icing tip is on point!
